Three Confederations Down, Three To Go.

Hello everyone! The OFC has finished with its qualifying, which means we now have a regional Champion who's headed for Germany come 2011. And that Champion is New Zealand. In reality, no one in the OFC could even stand a chance against them. New Zealand was crowned the OFC Champion after they destroyed Papua New Guinea 11-0 in the Final. In the 3rd place consolation match, the Cook Islands defeated the Solomon Islands 2-0. And that marks the end of Women's World Cup qualifiers for Oceania. There are only 3 confederations who have yet to do their qualifying, and that is the AFC (Africa), CONMEBOL (South America), and CONCACAF (North and Central America + Caribbean). The remaining confederations are set to begin qualifying in late October, and will end their campaigns in early-mid November. I'll make sure to keep up on all of that.

That's all for today people. The next thing we'll discuss is likely to be some important upcoming friendlies, and also Sundhage's roster of USWNT players she chose for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. That should be announced sometime tomorrow or Sunday.

Until next time,

Denise
